Typing Fingers & Keyboard Positions

To deal with Letter Cases (Capital Letters) and Symbols, we need to introduce the Shift Key. The Shift key is controlled by the little fingers L5, R5.

The Shift key in combination with our other keyboard keys will change their case (if it is an alphabet character) or allows us to select the symbol at the top of that key.

So practise the full keyboard keys again, but this time with Capiltalisation included. Remember, hold down one of the shift key to change the case!

Start with your fingers on the Home Row (Row 3) with your index fingers over F & J.

As a guide to where you are currently are, always return to the Home Row & Keys F & J when you are not typing.

If you need help with the finger's chart, please review the First Lesson.
