Typing Fingers & Keyboard Positions

Start with your fingers on the Home Row (Row 3) with your index fingers over F & J.

In this lesson, we are going to deal with the remainder Number Row. Again, try and familiarise yourself with the positions of the keys and the relevant fingers.

It can be difficult to reach for the number keys, especially if you have short little fingers (L5, R5). Some people prefer to use the ring fingers (L4,R4) to type the keys of the L5, R5. If you do, then be consistent and stick with using those fingers.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0
L5 L4 L3           R4 R5

As a guide to where you are currently are, always return to the Home Row & Keys F & J when you are not typing.

If you need help with the finger's chart, please review the First Lesson.
